Capcom announced today that the Versus Mode downloadable content will be released on Tuesday, April 7th through PSN and Xbox Live. The Versus Mode DLC adds two competitive multiplayer modes to the survival horror.

The two modes, Slayer and Survivor, can be played 1v1 or 2v2. Slayer has players competing to rack up the most zombie - sorry, Majini - kills in the time allotted. In Survivor, the two teams will battle each other directly. The DLC will cost 400 Microsoft Points ($5).

Screenshots of the new competitive multiplayer are available here. The idea of releasing premium content so soon after the game's release annoyed some players, who accused Capcom of deliberately withholding content from the full game in order to make more money. This led to a lengthy response from Capcom, who called the criticisms "BS."
