First Clip From Looper: Bruce Willis Doesn't Want To Talk About Time Travel

On paper backwards time travel seems really simple - person travels from "Future Point A" to "Past Point B" - but when you really start digging into it it becomes insanely complicated. Is a person literally traveling to their own past, or are they visiting an alternate timeline? If it's not an alternate timeline, does that mean every thing that happens post-time travel has a direct effect on "Future Point A"? What are the implications/ramifications of running into your past self and/or people who you used to know? It's a subject with thousands of questions and could potentially take hours to discuss. So it's not a surprise that Bruce Willis' character in the upcoming Rian Johnson film Looper isn't too excited to talk about it.

Yahoo! has posted a new clip from the movie featuring Willis and Joseph Gordon-Levitt - who plays Willis' past self - sitting down for a meeting in a diner to talk about the very strange situation that they have both found themselves in. It's a pretty funny scene - I love the quip about making diagrams with straws - and you can check it out below!

The film is set in a future where hired assassins working for the mob called Loopers are trained to kill targets that have been sent to them from 30 years in the future. While the people in this profession are well paid and live great lives, there is a catch: at some point they will be forced to "close the loop" and kill their future selves. While Joe (Gordon-Levitt) has no problem with this arrangement, things get complicated when his future self (Willis) is sent back and manages to escape. Looper co-stars Emily Blunt, Piper Perabo, Paul Dano, Noah Segan and Jeff Daniels and will in theaters on September 28th after holding its premiere next month at the Toronto International Film Festival.
