This weekend one of the most talked-about films of the spring, The Runaways, finally hits theaters, giving audiences a chance to see Dakota Fanning in one of her most grown-up roles yet, and Kristen Stewart taking on a character far, far away from Bella Swan. Playing Cherie Currie and Joan Jett, the two leaders of the 70s punk girl band The Runaways, Stewart and Fanning stretch their legs as rock stars, portraying two feminist icons and rockers who impact has lasted far, far beyond the four year career of The Runaways.
