Guillermo del Toro has added another movie to his “to do” list once he finishes with Hellboy 2. The guys over at JoBlo say he’s lined up a movie at Universal called Haters.

It’s based on a book, and del Toro will direct. It sounds like it’s right up Guillermo del Toro’s alley too. Dark, strange, and fucked up. It also sounds a lot like the plot of still to be released horror movie The Signal. Weird. Apparently it’s about a sudden increase in the number of brutal, merciless, violent assaults. The assaulters are dubbed “Haters” by the media, hence the movie’s name. Gawd don’t you just hate the media?

It’s no secret that Del Toro loves him some blood and violence though, so he should have a lot of fun with this strange ripoff of The Signal. I guess he hasn’t gotten around to seeing it.
