Milla Jovovich’s next role will find her on an Alaskan oil rig, in a movie called Mile Zero… probably. At this point, Jovovich’s involvement is more rumor than news. But on a more factual note, Variety reports reports that the horror/thriller, written by Holly Brix, will be directed by Marcel Langenegger (Deception). Since Milla Jovovich + oil + badass hard labor = hotness, I have no doubt that her fans of the masculine persuasion are rooting for her to take the part.
Mile Zero follows the story of a woman who gets a job on an oil rig. She wants to get closer to the people on the boat, as she is attempting to prove that her father is innocent of some horrific murders that took place on it. Her tactic is what makes the movie stand out-- she's trying to exonerate her father by proving that the ship is haunted. Blaming ghosts, eh? Sounds pretty horror/sci-fi to me.
The film will be developed by Phoenix Pictures, which is also producing the upcoming Scorsese pic Shutter Island.
