Monsters, Inc. Will Scare Its Way On To 3D Blu-ray In February
Monsters, Inc. is a fan-favorite animated flick and back in 2009, it became one of Disney•Pixar’s early conversions to Blu-ray. Now, following the film’s 3D theatrical release, the company is putting together the first 3D Blu-ray release for the monster-oriented movie.
Monsters, Inc.: The Ultimate Collector’s Edition will be released on February 19, 2013, just a couple of weeks before a few of Disney•Pixar’s other movies, including Who Framed Roger Rabbit and few different combo packs, hit Blu-ray for the very first time. The Ultimate Collector’s Edition will come in a 5-Disc combo pack that pretty much will feature any way to watch the flick audiences will ever need, including the 3D Blu-ray, the regular Blu-ray, a DVD copy, and a digital copy of Monsters, Inc.
A lot of times when Disney rehashes sets like Monsters, Inc. the company will throw on a lot of the same extras, and while that happens with the set, there does seem to be some new stuff with the upcoming release. Most notably, the set will feature a “sneak peak” at Monsters University, which I’m keeping my fingers crossed will be an actual, honest-to-God sneak peak and not just a preview for the movie. While some of the same short films from the Blu-ray and DVD release will be part of this set, fans will also get a Toy Story short, plus a few other extras. You can check out the full list of bonus features, below, and even compare and contrast to the original Blu-ray release of the flick.
