Must Watch: Darren Aronofsky Directs 4 Anti-Meth PSAs
Those who use crystal meth are either amazingly stupid or don't watch nearly enough Breaking Bad (note: those two things aren't necessarily mutually exclusive). The awful drug destroys minds, it destroys bodies and it destroys lives, both of the user and those that care about them. Sadly, however, the use of methamphetamine is a growing epidemic and one that seriously needs to be quelled. And what better way to do that than to get the guy who made Requiem for a Dream to direct a series of public service announcements?
Animal New York has posted four PSAs directed by Darren Aronofsky for The Meth Project's campaign against the spread of the deadly drug. I should warn you that these are actually fairly intense and graphic, so just be careful. That said, you really should watch them: Not exactly pleasant to watch, but most definitely powerful. When I first saw Requiem for a Dream it took me about a week to shake it off (I don't think I can ever watch that movie again) and these short videos definitely have a similar impact. People: don't take meth. |
