This New X-Men: Days Of Future Past Trailer Will Blow You Away
After months of waiting following the debut of the first X-Men: Days of Future Past footage late last year, we are now finally starting to get new previews on a regular basis. It was less than a month ago that 20th Century Fox unveiled the most recent trailer for the film, and just this past Sunday we saw a new clip arrive courtesy of the MTV Movie Awards. But now the time has come for yet another big theatrical preview for the blockbuster comic book movie, courtesy of the X-Men Movies YouTube page.
I must say that I absolutely love this trailer, and I imagine that it will absolutely sell anybody on the movie thatís not already sold. From the thumping chords of Led Zeppelinís "Kashmir," to the almost heist-like set-up of the plot, this new preview gives us a much better idea of what X-Men: Days of Future Past will be like, and it looks incredible. I couldnít be more excited that Bryan Singer is back making X-Men movies.
Based on the great comic book arc by Chris Claremont, John Byrne and Terry Austin, X-Men: Days of Future Past begins in a devastated future where the members of the titular team and all of Homo superior kind are forced to hide underground due to fear of the Sentinels, incredibly advanced robots designed to target and kill all mutants. In order to prevent this horrific timeline from ever coming to pass, the surviving heroes elect to send Wolverineís (Hugh Jackman) consciousness back in time to 1973 where he can hopefully prevent an event that changes the world forever. In order to do so, however, Wolverine must reunite the young Professor X (James McAvoy) and Magneto (Michael Fassbender), who have taken very different paths since first meeting a decade before. As you might have been able to figure out, the film will bring together casts from both the original X-Men trilogy and X-Men: First Class, including Halle Berry, Ian McKellen, Patrick Stewart, Shawn Ashmore, Anna Paquin, Ellen Page, Daniel Cudmore, Nicholas Hoult, Jennifer Lawrence, and Lucas Till. Newcomers to the franchise include Peter Dinklage as Bolivar Trask, Omar Sy as Bishop, Fan Bingbing as Blink, Booboo Stewart as Warpath and Evan Peters as Quicksilver.
With the release of this trailer, the marketing for X-Men: Days of Future Past has gotten to an interesting place. With the film due out at the end of next month, we will soon start to see the release of new TV spots and various clips, but Iím almost hoping that from this point on we donít get to see too much more new footage. Given its complex plot and the fact that it is bringing together so many different characters from the X-Men universe, the film undoubtedly still has many secrets kept within its running time, and Iím hoping they remain secrets until Iím watching the full movie up on the big screen.
X-Men: Days of Future Past will be in theaters on May 26th, and you can watch the previously released trailers below:
