Alleged Victim Wants To Break Settlement With Elmo Puppeteer

Just a few days after he accepted $125,000 in exchange for a statement publically admitting his relationship with Elmo puppeteer Kevin Clash was legal and consensual, Sheldon Stephens has reportedly begun meeting with lawyers to try and get out of the agreement. Heís reportedly claiming he was pressured into signing the agreement and wants to give back the money, assumedly so he can file another lawsuit or renegotiate his agreement.
The twenty-three-year-old wannabe model originally claimed he began having an affair with Clash when he was just sixteen. Recently, he hired a lawyer and brought his allegations to PBS. After a lengthy investigation, network executives didnít find any evidence of wrongdoing, but the puppeteer still decided to take a leave of absence in order to sort through the seedy allegations. It seemed like he accomplished that last week when Stephens issued the statement clearing Clash of any wrongdoing.
According to TMZ, Stephens is telling his potential new attorneys that he was crying while signing the settlement agreement. Even if thatís true and even if he really started having sex with Clash when he was sixteen, you have to pick a course and stay with it. If one is really concerned about justice, he or she needs to go to the police. If one is concerned about money, a settlement needs to be reached and then everyone involved needs to abide by that settlement.
Hereís to hoping this all gets straightened out sooner rather than later.
