Fans of the Game of Thrones books have been losing patience with author George R.R. Martin, who understandably takes his sweet time in churning out the long and dense novels. As the world awaits the next installment of his A Song of Ice and Fire book series, fans have begun to worry--very vocally--if the 65-year-old writer will live long enough to complete the novels he's promised. Well, in the video clip above he responds to that concern. It's not pretty. But it is awesome.
The Mary Sue tipped us to this interview from the Swiss newspaper, Tagesanzeiger, where one reporter had the brass to ask George R.R. Martin what he thought of fan concerns that he--in an ironic turn of events--might die before carrying out his quest to finish the Game of Thrones book series. To this, Martin responded by flipping the bird and saying quite clearly, "I find that question pretty offensive, frankly, when people start speculating about my death and my health. So 'Fuck you' to those people."
Let this moment be forever immortalized as a GIF.
