Malin Akerman Names Son Sebastian, Rate Her Choice

Malin Akerman is a mother for the first time. The Watchmen actress gave birth to a healthy baby boy this morning, and both she and her husband, Roberto Zincone, are apparently over the moon about it.

Here’s what the star tweeted earlier this evening…

”My husband and I welcomed our beautiful, healthy baby boy to this world this morning! Biggest joy of my life!!! #lovemykidPS and his name is...Sebastian Zincone :))) Love him more than life itself!! #whatafeeling !!!”

As with all celebrity babies, an overwhelming majority of the chatter since the announcement has centered around Malin and Roberto’s choice of names. Compared with the choices of most of their famous counterparts, Sebastian is decidedly more inside the box, and while it’s not Steve or Bob, it feels positively normal. In fact, most people probably at least know someone who knows someone named Sebastian.

Personally, I like it. I’m not sure I’m in love with it, but to me, it’s a solid B. It’s a name a kid can be proud of, while still mostly standing out. That’s just my opinion though. I want to know what you think.

How do you like the name Sebastian? Do you think Malin picked wisely? Let us know your thoughts by rating the moniker in the poll below…
