Well, no one could accuse these guys of being stoic. If only we could see what they’re seeing. Then again… I’m a little scared.
Reaction videos have been around, and going viral, since the dawn of Youtube. I mean, what’s better than to watch people react to something shocking or disgusting, especially if you know what’s coming before they do. Youtube user Moomoo TV recently decided to cash in on this fad by having Korean men watch racy American porn for the first time:
These guys are internet gold. The way some of them are reacting you’d think they’re being forced to watch a live murder.
As someone who doesn’t consider himself a porn aficionado, I didn’t realize that the range of explicitness would vary so greatly from culture to culture. Indeed, these guys made it seem like the Korean adult film industry is significantly more mild than whatever they were being shown. Surprised by the male actor’s aggression as well as the size of his *ahem* gift, it seems that things in their respective industry are tamer and more respectful of the female talent.
Moomoo TV has released quite a few “Koreans reacting to…” videos before taking things to a more raunchy level. The video’s on screen participants have reacted to Rihanna, Meghan Trainor, and Kim Kardashian to moderate viewership. The porn reaction, released two weeks ago, has been significantly more successful, gaining nearly 2 million views since it’s upload date.
Part of the reason they struck gold in this newest video is because the gentlemen who volunteered to be taped are pretty hilarious. While one guy seemed seemed to be enjoying the video throughout, and later gave his approval at its conclusion, most of the reactions were not as positive.
That’s right, American porno is, apparently, downright horrifying for these Korean males. One guy in particular seemed to be having a hard time breathing, and proceeded to attempt to back away from the screen- as if the male performer was going to reach through and make him the next victim.
Most of the guys do seem to have a good sense of humor about the ridiculousness that is Western Pornography. My favorite viewer even went so far as to make a Full Metal Jacket reference in his reaction, to which I almost gave a standing ovation. Favorite other moments consisted of the question regarding the female’s hygiene and waxing techniques, as well comparing the male actor to a tree. Seriously, you can’t make this up.
Do yourself a favor and watch this video. You deserve the laugh! It’s completely safe for work as they’re speaking in Korean, and none of the film they’re watching is shown.
So, you have no excuse; these guys clearly have more to fear than you.
