The View is a staple of ABC daytime television for many, and it's still going strong after more than 20 years on the air. The panel of hosts has gone through many changes over the years, and it tends to be best to not get too attached to any particular person at a given time. Host turnover is pretty high. Now, another co-host is leaving the series, and another woman may already be slated to fill her shoes. We now know that Jedediah Bila will no longer be part of the series.

The news of Jedediah Bila's departure likely came as a surprise to many viewers, as there was no fanfare or forewarning to the announcement. Bila simply broke the news during the September 18 episode of the show, and she said her goodbyes. No official reason for her departure was given, but she revealed that she's hard at work on a book and will be getting married in the not-too-distant future. Even without The View, she'll be keeping busy.

Jedediah Bila filled a unique role on the series as the conservative voice on a panel that frequently discusses very liberal points-of-view. The View traditionally features hosts from different backgrounds and with different outlooks, and Bila made for an interesting counterpoint. Discussions were never boring with her around, and it should be interesting to see if her replacement will click as effectively with the other hosts.

No announcement has yet been made about who will replace Jedediah Bila on The View, but CNN Money reports that Meghan McCain is in the late stages of discussions that will bring her on board the ABC talk show. Although nothing has been confirmed at this point, it's worth noting that McCain recently left Fox News, where she had been a contributor since 2015. She worked as a regular co-host of the Fox News series Outnumbered from November 2016 to September 2017.

A move from Fox News to ABC would be a pretty big deal for Meghan McCain, and she does make sense as Jedediah Bila's replacement. She could fill the conservative role for the rest of the View panel, and she has experience with panel talk shows that discuss current events. The timing of her departure from Fox News certainly suggests that she had another job waiting, although it does raise the question of when it was decided that Bila would be leaving.

All things considered, Jedediah Bila got a respectable farewell from The View. She got to say her piece to the audience one last time, and she had some nice exchanges with the hosts who are remaining on board. Check her final appearance out for yourself!

We'll have to wait and see who The View chooses to replace Jedediah Bila. The odds are pretty good that Meghan McCain will soon make her View debut as host, but we can't say for sure at this point.
