Caesar Talks Of Tumbling Giants In Spartacus' Ides Of March Promo

"Many a giant has tumbled to the afterlife believing himself too big to fall."

I love the smug look on his face as he sits in his throne at the end. Oh Ceasar, if only you knew!

I had expected Starz to acknowledge the fact that today is March 15, otherwise known as the Ides of March - the day Caesar fell. The network didn't fail to deliver the goods, giving us this excellent, Caesar-focused Spartacus: War of the Damned promo, which not only acknowledges the historical day with its focus on Gaius Julius Caesar, but also reminds us that it's Friday! And tonight, a new episode of Spartacus will air, which is good news, although bittersweet, as it brings us that much closer to the end. As the promo says, it's near!

Tonight's episode, titled "Mors Indecepta," is the first of the final four episodes of the series. From the clips we've seen, it looks like at least part of the episode will focus on conflict inside Spartacus' ranks. But given today's date, I'm especially hopefully that we'll see a bit of Caesar. Perhaps we'll see him and Tiberius butting heads again. The two haven't gotten along from the start, and after Tiberius' failed attempt to get Caesar killed, I'm thinking Caesar will try to find a way to retaliate. We'll see!

Spartacus: War of the Damned airs Fridays at 9:00 p.m. ET on Starz.

Spartacus and Tiberius might consider enlisting the help of Gretchen Weiners in their efforts to take down Caesar...
