Community 'Heroic Origins' Clip Shows An Awkward Flashback For Annie

Spoilers from tonight's Community ahead! It looks like New Girl isn't the only great, current TV comedy tapping into flashbacks for a bit of awkward humor this week. Tonight's episode of Community will take us back in time to show how the beloved members of the study group were destined to cross paths with one another before they met at Greendale.

As you can see in the clip above, we have a look at dorky Annie (Alison Brie) when she was in high school and on the verge to her inevitable breakdown. Troy, meanwhile, is on top. The future has never looked so bright. He has no use for math. Only statistics… wait a second…

Based on the episode description, it sounds like we'll get to see where everyone was before they arrived at Greendale, as Abed has convinced himself that the group was destined to meet. It's just a matter of piecing together everyone's pasts. That may be where this photo comes in…

Abed notebook

It wouldn't be unlike Abed (Danny Pudi) to keep a scrapbook to organize his theories. That may be what we're looking at in the photo above.

As for the rest of the group's past, Britta's may have involved a nose ring and some gothy black hair…

Here's the official description for the episode, which also hints at Chang's plot to destroy Greendale.
