Futurama Returns?

Dedicated fans of the once-Fox animated series Futurama have been hanging on to hope that the show might someday be revived in actual episode form and if the information the folks over at Collider have, they just might get their wish!

According to Collider’s source, Futurama has been given a 13 episode order by Comedy Central. Rumor has it, the production offices are open and they’re already moving forward with casting.

Matt Groening’s Futurama aired originally on Fox but was cancelled in 2003. Reruns aired on Adult Swim after that and more recently, the show was revived in four straight to DVD films. A possible revival of the series to television has been talked about a lot since the show’s cancellation so if this rumor turns out to be true, I’m sure there are going to be a lot of fans out there who are jumping for joy.
