Gleeks, in last night's episode, we saw more McKinley alum return for the musical and Rachel got a major dose of reality from Cassandra. Let's recap, shall we?
Finn in charge
Will officially announced that Finn will be in charge all the way through sectionals. And the class reaction was mixed (namely Tina), but Schuester reassured everyone it will be okay.
Not realizing that Kitty has been sewing Marley's Sandy costume smaller, Marley worries that she is getting fat. Despite Marley's mom reassuring her that she isn't fat and that they can live a healthier lifestyle, Marley starts to go down the rabbit hole of bulimia. (Who else wanted to slap Kitty in the face for encouraging Marley?) Thankfully Ryder intervened in the bathroom and told Marley she didn't need to do that, especially after what happen to his cousin the wrestler. (FYI the wrestler took too many laxatives and poo-ed his pants.)
Rizzo is Unique... wait it's Santana?
Sue continued to undermine Finn by alerting Wade/Unique's parents about the role of Rizzo. Although Wade/Unique's parents were supportive of their son's choices, they were worried about his safety and decided to remove him from the play. They also will only let him wear women's clothing outside of school.
I get why Sue and Wade/Unique's parents were concerned about safety, but I just feel like Wade/Unique is the one suffering because he can't truly be accepted at school. Change won't happen overnight, but it will happen if you let Wade/Unique express himself the way he should be able to at McKinley.
Anyway, I thought Santana did an amazing job of filling the last minute role of Rizzo. And we got to see her reconnect with Brittany!
Rachel gets burned
I knew something was up when Cassandra was eager to offer her frequent flyer miles to Rachel and Kurt. And when Cassandra answered Brody's phone after hooking up with him, I was like classic soap opera moment! Should be interesting to see what happens during Rachel's next dance class.
No hope for these couples
After getting burned by Cassandra and Brody, Rachel's night continued to get worse when she bumped into Finn. Finn decided it's better if there is no contact between the two of them anymore. Rachel agrees. Meanwhile things aren't much better for Kurt. Kurt realized he can't get over the lack of trust between him and Blaine and announced it is truly over. Looks like Rachel and Kurt are both moving on from their failed high school relationships.
However, there is still a lingering spark going on between Brittany and Santana along with Mike and Tina, so maybe we may see a couple of relationships rekindled in the coming episodes. Plus how steamy was that kiss between Ryder and Marley. (Jake who?)
Finn's foray into directing the school musical was a success. He along with his crew and actors received a glowing review from McKinley's most notorious sophomore critic. Hmm looks like Finn is on the right path. Can't wait to see what he comes up with for sectionals.
Unique talking about himself in the third person sometimes just cracks me up like with the chocolate donut comment during the sleepover. Also Sugar totally captured Frenchy's facial expressions during Beauty School Dropout. Honestly she looked so much like Frenchy it was a little freaky.
Brittany: "I'm glad you came back to play Rizzo. I feel bad for Mercedes but if her parents want her to be a boy, then I don't know, I guess it makes sense."
Kurt: "I'm going. I need to see him. I haven't seen him since. I'm not sleeping. I'm living off of Ambien and The Notebook."
Ryder: "I don't want to kiss a girl who's got puke on her breath. Either on stage...or later."
Sue: "I've seen your true colors, Finn Hudson. You've got hate in that heart, Double Stuff. And probably also frosting."
"Look At Me I'm Sandra Dee"
"Beauty School Drop Out"
"There Are Worse Things I Can Do"
"You're the One That I Want"
Gleeks, prepare for some super hero Glee after that Thanksgiving turkey. See you next week!
