Continuing in the fine tradition of that one time Joe Piscopo taught Data to laugh on Next Gen, comedian and Robert Evans fanboy Patton Oswalt will be joining the cast of SyFy’s BSG prequel series Caprica. The Hollywood Reporter says that Oswalt will be testing the outer limits of his acting abilities by playing a Caprican comedian named Baxter Sarno. Which would also be an awesome name for a Bond villain.
Caprica will be premiering on SyFy this January, although the pilot hit DVD this past April. Meanwhile, of course, Universal is prepping their fancy-pants big-screen BSG redo with director Bryan Singer. But let’s be honest – can even a feature-size budget compete with the combined awesomeness of Eric Stoltz and Patton Oswalt? I think not. Although if Singer is listening, I’m pretty sure Joe Piscopo is available.
