Whether he’s playing himself, some other known figure or some random guy, comic book icon Stan Lee has a tendency to pop in for a cameo in projects inspired by his work. In fact, it’s practically expected (though not guaranteed) to see his face at some point during any given Marvel movie. So it should come as no surprise that he’s confirmed to appear in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D..
THR confirmed the news, stating that Lee was set to make a cameo in the ABC series, which is set in the aftermath of Marvel’s The Avengers and centers on the agents working under the leadership of S.H.I.E.L.D.’s Agent Coulson. As to how Lee will appear, THR says the details are unclear, and let’s hope they stay that way. As exciting as the cameo will be, one of the better aspects of Lee’s appearances is not knowing how or when he’ll pop up. If you don’t want to know the “when,” skip the next sentence! THR does say is that its’ a “big role” and it will happen in an episode that will likely air February 4. Yeah, see that’s already more information than I wanted to know.
Going back to Lee’s notable cameos in various Marvel movies, take a look at this rather thorough compilation of Lee spots:
