The Boys Are Back On DVD January 26th

I remember seeing the trailer for the Clive Owen family drama The Boys Are Back at my local art-house theater earlier this year. I even remember thinking it looked promising. Since that viewing of the trailer is the last I've thought about it until now, I'm probably not the only one who might be seeing this flick for the first time on DVD.

Based on a true story (and accompanying memoir), The Boys Are Back stars Owen as a sports writer who finds himself a single father of two boys after the sudden death of his wife. The role is a bit outside of the alternating action/romantic comedy wheelhouse the actor has settled into over the past few years, so it could be interesting. It's also directed by Scott Hicks, who proved with Shine that he's got a knack for turning true stories into compelling narrative. Miramax Films and Buena Vista Home Entertainment are releasing the flick on DVD January 26th. The set will include a pair of special features, listed below, and you can also check out the trailer.
