Check Out A Clip And Stills From Clive Barker's Book Of Blood

Clive Barker’s cinematic output hasn’t exactly made him a household name to the same degree as, say, Stephen King, but the English author has given us at least two lasting icons of horror: Hellraiser’s Cenobites and Candyman’s…er…Candyman. Still, relatively few of his written works have made the transition to the big screen, and even when they do, they often end up overlooked and under-promoted, as with last year’s Midnight Meat Train. That flick was based on a short story from Barker’s Books of Blood, and now another Barker adaptation from the same collection is slipping in under the radar. Clive Barker’s Book of Blood carves its way onto DVD and Blu-ray this September 22nd.

Based on two of Barker’s short stories – “The Book of Blood" and "On Jerusalem Street” – Book of Blood follows a paranormal expert (Sophie Ward) and a medium (Jonas Armstrong) who are investigating a haunted house. Given that this is Barker, we can safely presume that bad, bad things will happen to them. Diary of the Dead exec producer John Harrison directed the film, from a script by Harrison and Darin Silverman.

Lionsgate Home Entertainment has kindly supplied us with a clip from the film and several stills, so scroll on down and give Book of Blood a look-see. I don’t know about you, but that crucified guy in the thong scares the shit out of me.
