We're only four weeks away from finding out if Lost will stick the landing or leave us all wanting. With the end in sight, Walt Disney Home Entertainment has released info on when you'll be able to complete your collection, or pick up the whole series in one handy package. Both the sixth season and a complete-series collection of Lost will hit Blu-ray and DVD August 24th.
Regardless of whether all your island questions are given a satisfactory resolution on May 23rd, I can already tell you from personal experience that watching a season of Lost in close succession as opposed to stretched over months is a whole different experience. I don't think anybody will actually argue that Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse really had a plan for where the story was headed, but it's remarkable how well things hold together, given the countless course corrections the show has made over the years. With a previously disinterested wife who has decided at the eleventh hour that "that show actually seems kind of interesting," I know I'll be revisiting the entire saga of The Island once we pick up season six.
The previous Lost sets have done a stellar job of providing a wide array not just of special features, but of special features that are actually worth watching, and season six looks set to continue that tradition. With this early announcement Disney is still keeping their options open with a "And Much More!" tag, but the officially announced line-up is plenty impressive. Details on the complete set are a bit more sketchy, but it will apparently include all the previously released content plus a new bonus disc.
