Is Pandorum Coming To DVD December 22nd Or Are You Losing Your Mind?

On December 22nd, Anchor Bay Entertainment will release Pandorum on DVD and Blu-ray. Wait. Is this really happening? Or are you suffering from a severe case of Pandorum yourself?

Pandorum shows what happens when two astronauts, Payton (Dennis Quaid) and Bower (Ben Foster), wake up in hyper-sleep chambers with no recollection of who they are or what their mission is. As they regain their mental and physical capacities, they come to believe they are the only ones awake aboard the cavernous ship. In an effort to discover more, Payton crawls out of the room’s only exit, a cramped air duct, leaving Payton behind to navigate him via radio transmitter. As they uncover the spacecraft’s dark and dangerous secrets, they realize there aren't as alone as they first thought, and their neighbors aren't exactly friendly. To make matters worse, one or both of them may be coming down with a psychological condition called Pandorum, leaving their connection to reality more tenuous by the second.

After the movie is over, you’ll undoubtedly have questions, so it’s a good thing the DVD and BD come with a handful of bonus material. Both versions come with “The World of Elysium: Behind-the-Scenes,” “Flight Team Training Video,” audio commentary, deleted and alternate scenes, and still galleries. Exclusive to the BD edition will be a digital copy of the film "plus more." Odds are the "plus more" is synonymous with BD Live access.

If you’re looking for something to watch in the dark to get some cheap thrills, Pandorum is the movie for you. It’s not as great as the novel premise suggests, but is still worth a watching. That being said, there’s no point in putting down $39.98 for the Blu-ray version just to get a digital copy of the movie. Keep it simple and stick with the $29.98 DVD.
