Sam And Dean's Freshman Year Finally Goes High-Def With Supernatural Season One On Blu-Ray

Everyone is currently hemming and hawing about whether Sunday's LOST finale will live up to the six years of mysteries, questions, and flashing in various directions that preceded it. But me? I'm not worried. Because honestly, even if the Island departs with a whimper, I've already seen one perfect finale this month: Supernatural's brilliant, elegiac resolution to the Apocalypse. While many shows would have used the end of season focused on the end of the world to blow the budget on plagues and flaming swords, Supernatural stayed absolutely true to itself, pinning the fate of all human life on two sets of brothers, and saving the day with a classic car and a plastic Army man. It was moving, it was heartbreaking...and it's left me with absolutely no idea where new showrunner Sera Gamble will take us from here. But I can't wait to find out.

Seriously, if you haven't jumped on board the Supernatural bandwagon (which, incidentally, is pulled by a black 1967 Chevy Impala), now is the time. You've got at least three months before the fall premiere season, plenty of time to get through six years of road tripping and monster slaying with Sam and Dean Winchester. Even better, the show's first season is about to get a Blu-ray re-release from Warner Home Video. The first two seasons missed the Blu-ray phenomenon originally, so this is a welcome rectification. The second season will presumably follow suit at some point.
