Revenge Preview: Episode 21 - Grief

Just yesterday, we shared some very spoilery photos from the season finale of Revenge. But before that episode airs, we have "Grief" to look forward to next week. The description and promo for the episode gives us some clues as to what's ahead.

It seems likely that next Wednesday's episode will offer a fair amount of build-up to the "bombshell" season finale we've been promised. If you missed the promo that aired after last night's "Legacy," here it is below.

A couple of major moments: Daniel telling Victoria she's dead to him. Emily digging a hole. And what looks like Emily kissing Jack! There's also a bloody-faced Emily saying, "I want to be the last thing you see before you die. Is she killing someone? Or merely watching someone die? And whose hand was that with the pills? Charlotte seems to be the obvious guess there.

ABC's official episode description might give us some clues as to what some of that means…

"Grief" - A painful loss forges a stronger bond between Emily and Jack, Victoria forms a new alliance that could seal Conrad's fate, and Charlotte sets out on a vendetta of her own with Declan as her target, on Revenge, WEDNESDAY, MAY 16 (10:00-11:00 p.m., ET), on the ABC Television Network.

My theory is that Sam the dog is the "painful loss" that brings Emily and Jack closer. They both care about the dog, and he's like twenty years old. Let's face it, his time may be long overdue. Still, it would be a sad loss, as it's heartbreaking to lose a pet. But will it cause Emily and Jack to cross that line they've teetered so close to over the course of the season? Given that Daniel has chosen Team Grayson, that may be enough to remind Emily that her relationship with him is just business. Who knows?
