One of the longest-running franchises that has one of the most dedicated fandoms ever, will be on the receiving end of a brand new encyclopedia when it lands on e-tailer shelves. That's right, Nintendo is unleashing a mega-sized encyclopedia covering The Legend of Zelda across multiple games dating all the way back to the original.
The Amazon store lists the upcoming The Legend of Zelda Encylcopedia hardcover book as an upcoming release set to start shipping out on April 24th, 2018 for $34.10. The book is discounted on Amazon by 15% off the normal $39.99 price thanks to the pre-order price slash.
The book contains 320-pages of information, exemplifying every nook and cranny of Nintendo's exhaustive adventure series from the original Legend of Zelda on the NES, all the way up to The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD. Surprisingly it does not include the most recent outing for the Switch, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.
What's more is that this also includes the official canonized Legend of Zelda timeline and all of the included information that highlights the connection between Zelda, Link, Ganon, and the Hyrule kingdom.
Additionally, the encyclopedia will also cover the events dealing with Hyrule's history, the art, artifacts, and rare images and sketches of some of the more popular characters featured throughout the series. What's more is that there will be an official, exclusive interview featured in the book with the legendary series producer, Eiji Aonuma.
While both he and Shigeru Miyamoto have taken more overseer roles in recent years when it comes to the production of The Legend of Zelda outings, the duo is still very much involved with coming up with creative ideas and design concepts to push the series forward. Hence, gamers get a firsthand idea of what makes Zelda tick straight from the words of Aonuma!
To help further sweeten the deal, Amazon is also bundling in The Legend of Zelda Encyclopedia with The Legend of Zelda: Art & Artifacts. Both books are published by Nintendo and are official cornerstones in chronicling both the history and visuals of the popular series. The latter book, however, can be acquired separately for $26.54. If you get both books together it will run you $60.64.
These are definitely designed for hardcore gamers looking to dive deeper into the lore of the series, spanning the 30 years of games that have come out for the NES, the SNES, the Nintendo 64, the GameCube, and finally the Wii.
If you're not averse to pre-ordering gaming memorabilia, you can currently pre-order The Legend of Zelda Encyclopedia from Amazon or Barnes & Noble. And while the encyclopedia may not feature Breath of the Wild's story content, the art book will most certainly contain a lot of the items, visuals, concepts, and sketches from the adventure title that came out earlier this year.
