Sony's free games for PlayStation Plus subscribers in December have been revealed. If you're a paid subscriber for Sony's premium PlayStation Network services, then you'll be able to take advantage of the six free games that Sony is offering to gamers.
Gamespot is reporting that that the six games for December include:
Darksiders 2: Deathinitive Edition -- PS4
Kung Fu Panda: Showdown of Legendary Legends -- PS4
_Syberia Collection _ - PS3
Xblaze Lost: Memories -- PS3
Forma 8 -- PS Vita
Wanted Corp -- PS Vita
The two PS Vita games are also available as cross-buy titles for the PlayStation 4. This means you'll be able to gain access to a total of four games for the PS4 if you also acquire the PS Vita games during the month of December as well.
Darksiders 2 came out back in 2012 for the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC. However, the game ended up getting a remastered re-release for the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 after THQ dissolved. The remastered version contains all of the previously released DLC for the game, but with the added DLC that was released for the game during its initial run on the market. The game also has support for higher resolutions and stable frames.
Darksiders 2 didn't quite tear up the market the way the original did. Death found himself spending more time solving puzzles rather than fighting off baddies with his scythe. It was one of the definitive differences between the original Darksiders and the sequel, with the first game focusing more on War and his battle prowess, and the second game giving Death more of a thought-provoking, puzzle-oriented experience.
Beyond Vigil Games' comic book-inspired adventure game, there's also the movie based game Kung Fu Panda. I doubt many PS4 gamers are excited about that one, but if you're looking for something to keep the kids occupied, you could do worse.
Now for fans of point-and-click adventure games, Microids' Syberia Collection contains the first two Syberia games featuring Kate Walker. The third game only came out earlier this year for home consoles and PC, so gamers looking to catch up on the previous outings before diving into Syberia 3 will at least be able to do so without paying extra. The only drawback is that you would need a PS3 handy.
Xblaze is part of a visual novel series. If you're into reading Japanese-themed novels with high-quality CG images to help illustrate the story, the sequel will be available for PS3 owners. As for Forma 8... it's an indie platformer while _Wanted Corp _is a throwback to the age of isometric twin-stick shooters. For those of you who like running and gunning you'll probably take kindly to Wanted Corp. You can get your hands on all of these games right now if you have an active PlayStation Plus subscription.
