The “Breathe Me” trailer from the Tribeca film festival for Beyond: Two Souls has surfaced, giving gamers a very dynamic and cinematic look at the upcoming interactive action-drama from Quantic Dream and Sony Computer Entertainment.

The game stars Ellen Page...yes the same one who makes Hollywood movies, and it also stars Willem Dafoe...yes, the same one who makes Hollywood movies. Players will control Ellen as she goes around doing whatever it is that she's doing while utilizing some special telekinetic-style supernatural powers just like Tetsuo from Akira, but minus the deformed baby thing that he turned into at the end of the movie. There's a second soul in Ellen Page's character named Aiden and he's one bad, angry, force-disturbing mofo who can kill, manipulate the environment and cause all other sorts of mayhem without ever being seen. It's like having a very dangerous invisible friend around...all the time.

Beyond is designed in similar fashion to Quantic's previous games with kooky outcomes, such as Indigo Prophecy and Heavy Rain. The game still uses the movie-with-QTE-controls so that players are basically watching an interactive movie with some light control elements tossed in.

Beyond: Two Souls is set for release on October 8th, in all its Ellen Page and Willem Dafoe glory. I'm sure Jim Sterling is having a seizure of pleasure on the floor right now. You can learn more by paying a visit to the official website.
