Oh snap, if you didn't already pre-purchase the game or haven't been spending all of your waking moments since 12:00am of September 18th watching live-streams of Borderlands 2 into the wee hours of the morning, it's now time to buck up and a be a real gamer and buy your own copy because Gearbox Software's looter-shooter is now available.
Gamers already camped out at GameStops across the nation will probably miss this bit of news as they try to grab their copy of the game early, but for everyone else, take note that Borderlands 2, jam-packed with more than a bazillion guns, brand new character classes, brand new bad guys, all new environments, a kick-butt story, more vehicles than a Mad Max movie marathon, more muzzle fire than Stallone and Schwarzenegger's best films combined, and more shell casings than John Woo's squib team from the 80s could ever muster in a decade of Hong Kong bullet-hell action movies tossed into a blender and set on puree. Behold the launch trailer while my fingers catch their breath.
Pre-orders are now done and over with, anyone who wanted the bonuses had their chance to do so yesterday. According to VGChartz this is 2K Games most pre-ordered game and Take-Two Interactive's third-most pre-ordered game sitting just behind Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas and Grand Theft Auto IV. I imagine Take-Two's pre-order record will be broken with Grand Theft Auto V, but until then they have Borderlands 2 to fill out their coffers quite nicely.
You can pick up a copy of Borderlands 2 for the Xbox 360, PS3 or PC for $59.99. Reviews from most major outlets have so far been rather positive. You can always learn more by paying a very kind visit to the Official Website.
