Subscribe To Brawl Delayed Until March Updates

Fans of Nintendo’s Smash Bros. series will have to wait a little bit longer for the Wii incarnation, Super Smash Bros. Brawl, originally scheduled for an early February release. The news came late last night from Brawl's director, Masahiro Sakurai, via the game's website as the official posting on the Smash Bros. Dojo!! site reads:

Due to delays in the completion of Super Smash Bros. Brawl, we’ve had to change the release date of the game to Sunday, March 9th. I deeply apologize to the people who have looked forward to playing the game for so long and ask that you hold on just a little longer. Thank you for your patience.

And that’s that. Straight from the mouth of the game’s director. No specific reason was given for the delay of the hotly-anticipated title, but while the American release of the game is pushed back by a month, the Japanese release is only moved back by another week, suggesting that it may not be any significant gameplay changes.
