Epic Games served up a dozen new screenshots of Bulletstorm today. The third-person shooter is being developed by Epic's subsidiary People Can Fly, the creators of Painkiller.
In Bulletstorm, mercenaries Grayson Hunt and Ishi Sato are stranded on a planet filled with mutants, cannibals, and giant deadly plants. Fortunately, you can play these deadly foes against each other. One screenshot shows a rifle-wielding goon getting too close to a plant and getting eaten up.
The game's not just a battle of survival, though - you've gotta look good while you do it, too. Bonus points are doled out according to how exotic your kills are. These points are then spent on character and weapon upgrades. Your score for a given kill is shown right above the target's head - hence the "+50 Headshot" hovering over an enemy in one shot.
Though the visuals look pretty polished, Bulletstorm's still pretty far off. It's currently slated for a 2011 release on the PS3, Xbox 360, and PC.
