UTV Ignition Entertainment’s highly original and semi-thought provoking Biblical action game, El Shaddai: Ascension of the Metatron is now available for the Xbox 360 and PS3. The game sees players taking on the role of Enoch in a sort of alternate look at one of the "heretical" books of the Bible, 'The Book of Enoch'.
Originally, the Earth was flooded because of the chaos a few renegade angels caused due to being horny dastards, in the game players will try to thwart the destruction of mankind by retrieving the souls of those angels before it’s too late, venturing through a multitude of heavenly planes to fight a vast assortment of some crazy looking creatures.
Shane Bettenhausen, Director of PR and New Business Development UTV Ignition Games commented in the press release, saying…
“We are absolutely thrilled to finally bring El Shaddai: Ascension of the Metatron to gamers across North America,” ... “The development team in Japan poured several years of passion and creativity into this project, and we are extremely proud that their uncompromising, unique vision carries through into the final user experience.”Players will be able to wield both mortal and heavenly weapons in the game, utilizing a wide range of combat skills and techniques brought to you by the same fellow who originally designed Devil May Cry, Sawaki Takeyasu.
The game is available at local retailers for $59.99 on the Xbox 360 or PS3, and so far it seems like it has been receiving some fair praise for not being another modern military first-person shooter. El Shaddai is set to release in Europe beginning September 8th, so you PAL gamers keep an eye out at your local retailers when September rolls around.
