Just in case you stopped drooling over previous Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim screenshots, Bethesda sent out a fresh batch today. The new shots should create a fresh puddle on your desk.

Skyrim is powered by the new Creation Engine. It's based on the Gamebryo Engine from Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion and Fallout 3 but has several improvements. For example, dynamic lighting allows every object in the game to cast a shadow. The new tech also resulted in much more realistic plantlife.

The most striking thing about the screenshots for me is the diversity. It's one thing to create one basic type of environment for a game and make it look really good - for example, the urban sprawl in Killzone 2. However, making several environments - caves, ruins, forests, towns - all look amazing is quite a feat.

Skyrim will be released on November 11th.
