Ubisoft launched the open beta for first-person shooter Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Future Soldier today. Select PS3 and Xbox 360 gamers will be able to try out a portion of the game's multiplayer for two weeks.

There are four different ways to get into the beta. All PlayStation Plus subscribers get automatic access. If you still own Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Conviction on the Xbox 360, you can access it through that game's main menu. Anyone who pre-ordered Ghost Recon: Future Soldier on 360 through GameStop before the 16th will get a key as well. Ubisoft will also be sending out keys via e-mail to select Uplay members.

Players chosen for testing will also be given friend codes. For example, I got into the Xbox 360 beta today and Ubisoft supplied me three additional keys. If you're an Xbox 360 gamer and live in the US, watch our Facebook page today. I'll post the download codes at random points through this afternoon and evening.

The beta lets testers play three classes (Rifleman, Engineer, Scout) on two maps. They'll earn experience through these matches and be able to upgrade their character. The beta will also give you a taste of the new intel and suppression features in Future Soldier.

Ubisoft will shut down the beta on May 2nd. The full version of Future Soldier will then launch on May 22nd in the US, on the 24th in PAL territories, and on the 25th in the UK.
