The action-platforming series Jak and Daxter could make its PlayStation Vita debut soon. The Entertainment Software Rating Board in North America has rated the Jak and Daxter Collection for the handheld.

Jak and Daxter was a series of PS2/PSP games developed by Uncharted studio Naughty Dog. Players take on the role of Jak and his weasel-like companion Daxter. The two must hunt down artifacts in an open world. They'll also fend off enemies with both ranged and melee attacks.

The Jak and Daxter Collection was a one-disc PS3 compilation of Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy, Jak II and Jak 3. Each game was remade with 720p HD visuals. Mass Media, the studio that made the compilation, also added support for Trophies and stereoscopic 3D.

The ESRB (via AGB) often reveals ports before publishers can announce them. Chances are good that the Jak and Daxter Collection is in fact coming to the Vita. However, we'll have to see what Sony says.

Jak and Daxter have had a low profile as of late. Their only appearances this generation were in cross-over games PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale and PlayStation Move Heroes. Are these HD remakes the sign that the series is about to make a comeback?
