The PS Vita exclusive Killzone: Mercenary was featured in the cover story of Polish magazine PSX Extreme's latest issue. The mag provided several new details on the portable shooter.

Mercenary uses the same engine as the console KZ games. PSX Extreme (via NeoGAF) says that the graphics of Mercenary are comparable to the other games in the series. The game manages to have a stable frame rate in spite of its large draw distances and detailed textures.

Sony announced Mercenary this summer along with some story details. Players take on the role of guns-for-hire rather than ISA forces. This means that they can work for both the ISA and the Helghast. In addition to playing both sides of the war, they can choose what tactics to employ in their missions. The team of mercenaries can be seen in PSX Extreme's cover art, below.

Killzone: Mercenary will hit the Vita later this year.
