Star Fox 64 3D, the 3DS remake of the N64 flight combat game, will have several features that the original version didn't have. Online play via Wi-Fi isn't one of those new features, though.

One of the attendees of a retailer briefing in Japan provided details via the store's Twitter feed. These tweets, translated by Andriasang, mention the lack of Wi-Fi play as well as these other factoids:
  • The game has three modes: 3DS, N64, and Battle
  • In 3DS mode, the ship is controlled with the handheld's gyro sensor.
  • Battle modes supports four players and download play
  • Your face is shown as an icon during combat to allow for easy identification
Star Fox 64 3D will debut in Japan on July 14th. The North American and European release dates have yet to be announced.
