Portal creator Kim Swift and her team at Airtight Games are still hard at work on Quantum Conundrum. Today they released two more screenshots of the intriguing first-person puzzle game.

Players solve the puzzles in Quantum by shifting between different dimensions. Each dimension has different laws of physics and you must take advantage of these differences. For example, switching to the "fluffy" dimension makes all objects in the world light and fuzzy. This makes it possible for the player to pick up an obstacle and move it out of the way.

The puzzles get more complex over time. In a walkthrough video from the summer, the player encountered a glass wall with a metal safe in front of it. Changing to the fluffy dimension would make the safe light enough to pick up and throw at the wall but it wouldn't be heavy enough to do any damage. So, the player throws the safe in the fluffy dimension and then immediately switches back to the normal dimension. The safe, once again heavy and metal, smashes through the wall.

Quantum will be released in the first quarter of 2012 for PSN, Xbox Live Arcade, and PC.
