United Front Games and Square Enix have confirmed that Sleeping Dogs for PC will be a special beast. The game won't be gimped like a lot of other PC ports where you can't even customize the controls or make changes to graphic settings that best suit your system. Sleeping Dogs will carry over the whole she-bang and then some.
The press release states that the game will have full support for keyboard and mouse play, customizable controls, support for both AMD and Nvidia-based systems, allowing for multi-GPU support with Crossfire and SLI compatibility (something sorely lacking in a ton of games). Quad-core users will also have appropriate support, so it won't be one of those things where your multi-core PC will go to waste trying to run a game like Sleeping Dogs.
Speaking of graphics, the game will have full support for Screen Space Ambient Occlusion, HDR, blur, DOF, full shadowing effects and more. United Front also included an HD texture pack for PC gamers, so the game will theoretically look leaps and bounds better than its console counterpart on the right setup.
Another special feature for PC gamers are the hats for Team Fortress 2. Gamers who purchase Sleeping Dogs through Steam will receive some special bonuses in Team Fortress 2, which is never a bad thing. New hats, swag and tattoos will make the cut along with a new king of the hill map inspired by the streets of Hong Kong.
Sleeping Dogs for PC is set for release alongside its console counterparts starting August 14th. You can pre-order the game right now or learn more by paying a visit to the Official Website.
