Sonic And Sega All-Stars Racing Transformed GamesCom Trailer

A new gameplay trailer has been released for Sega's upcoming multi-vehicle, transforming racing game featuring their mildly lovable blue mascot, Sonic. The new trailer is is filled to the brim with dubstep and actually does a fine job of showcasing the game's rich visual tapestry as well as the dynamic and fluid transitions going from land to sea to air.

I'm not a terribly big fan of dubstep unless it truly suits the mood. I think it's the sort of music that fits in better with products that are kind of visually trippy or have a a culturally edge to them, stuff like FreeJack or Borderlands. Attaching dubstep to Sonic still seems odd to me. Anyway, the trailer is quite snazzy and does a nice job of showcasing the visually stimulating race tracks. Now if you're keen on some multiplayer racing action to tide you over until Nintendo's always-reliable release of a Mario Kart game for the new home console, then it looks like Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing Transformed might not be a bad alternative.

The original Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing was a fairly decent game, and offered players a nice selection of tracks and vehicles to race in ranging from Sega's illustrious career of colorful characters and franchises.

With the sequel, the additional transformation option kind of hearkens back to the Diddy Kong Racing schtick from the N64 era. Sega's upcoming title is scheduled for release later this year on November 20th for the Xbox 360, PS3 and Nintendo 3DS. For more information be sure to pay a visit to the Official Sega Website.
