Turok Coming To PC In 2008

I had been assuming that Turok, the hopeful revitalization of the series by Propaganda Games, was coming out for the PC. It is an FPS title after all, and we all know that the genre fits perfectly with the platform. Of course, you know what assuming does. So, now that I’ve been ousted as an ass on the Tubes I feel comfortable letting you know that Touchstone announced that the game will be hitting the Windows PC platform on February 5, 2008.

Let’s be honest, hearing that there’s a new Turok game on the way is akin to scheduling an appointment with the dentist. Sure, you know that it had to happen at some point. Perhaps you’ve even had some good memories of past trips. But ultimately, you wait with trepidation. I still shudder when I go into my parent’s attic and see that stupid black Turok 64 cartridge.

The new game looks really good. But that’s the key, it just looks like a decent game. Hopefully the satisfaction of sneak killing raptors is as good as I envision. If anything should be predisposed to fun, it’d be battling dinosaurs. Past Turok games have proved that an irresponsible stance to take, and I apologize to all my friends who played Turok on my recommendation. The hands on reports going around alleviate my fears, and I’m happy to see the title officially slated for a PC release.

Players will be able to get their hands on Joseph Turok as he takes on Kane and his Mendel-Gruman Corporation soldiers – as well as 16 player online multiplayer – come February 5, 2008.
