With The Walking Dead: Michonne wrapping up and releasing soon, it’s only natural to assume that everyone’s focus will shift to the next season in the game series, The Walking Dead Season 3. While Season 2 left everyone with a whirlwind of endings, creator Robert Kirkman has hinted that Season 3 could involve an older version of Clementine. Kirkman said,
We'll be checking in on Clementine again, so we'll be seeing her, seeing where she's at and what's going on with her, which is going to be great.
Kirkman also noted that Season 3 in the games series will be set around the same time the comic books are set in that are coming out now. But he does not say anything about whether or not Clementine will be a main protagonist this time around. Kirkman also noted that the games would start to more closely intertwine with the comic books, saying,
I think that there will be some more comic book elements that we'll be working in in some interesting ways. I don't want to reveal too much, but it'll definitely go hand-in-hand with the comics a little bit more than Season 2 did.

I still have The Walking Dead Season 1 on my PS4 and I know I need to pick it up and play it finally, same with The Wolf Among Us, both Telltale superstars in the video game storytelling realm. I remember one of my friends telling me the emotional discomfort he went through in playing The Walking Dead Season 1 and how distraught he felt. Games that have the power to make you feel in such a way are truly successful. There isn’t yet an official release date for The Walking Dead Season 3, but we do know it will be coming out sometime this year, if it doesn’t run into any delays.
