Electronic Arts appears to be getting ready to announce another game in their long-running strategy series Command and Conquer. Several domain registrations indicate that the game will be called Command and Conquer: Alliances.
Here's the list of domains registered by EA (via Fusible):
What's interesting is that these domains reference both "Tiberium" and "Red Alert." Those are two different storylines in the C&C series. "Tiberium" depicts a futuristic battle between GDI and NOD, while "Red Alert" is an alternate history tale that imagines a world in which Hitler was assassinated before he came to power.
The fact that EA is registering domains referencing both storylines suggests that they're not sure what timeline the game will be set in. Or maybe they plan on trying to merge the narratives somehow. That would be...interesting. I suppose it would have to be a continuation of the Red Alert series in the future.
On Saturday, Spike will host its annual Video Game Awards. The VGAs seems like a good place for EA to announce this new C&C game. While this game may still be in its early stages, it wouldn't take much effort on their part to throw together a trailer with a logo of this upcoming game.
