Nintendo hasn’t been as boisterous as you might expect leading up to the launch of a new game console but, starting today, they’re finally taking a big step towards getting the word out about the Wii U with the launch of 5,000 demo kiosks across the United States.

The Wii U is set to launch Stateside on Nov. 18, just in time for the holiday shopping season. Aside from a quick commercial or two showing off the consoles new features, however, not much hype has been built leading up to the Wii U’s launch just a couple of weeks away. Well, Nintendo is about to change all of that, giving visitors to select Target, Best Buy, GameStop, Walmart and Toys R Us stores a chance to see the Wii U in action and maybe even pick up the new touch controller and take it for a hands-on spin.

Depending on the store location, visitors to some of the above listed stores will either be able to play a sampling of Wii U content in an interactive kiosk, or at least watch some new promotional videos introducing the general public to what Nintendo’s new console has to offer. You can expect to play or watch info pertaining to Nintendo Land, New Super Mario Bros. U, SiNG PARTY, ZombiU and Rayman Legends.

You can find out which stores will have Wii U kiosks in your area by visiting Nintendo’s official website.

As a reminder, the Wii U will launch in two varieties. The Basic Set (Or what I like to call the “Why would you even offer this gimped rubbish?” Set) will offer the white console with eight gigs of memory for $299.99. The Deluxe Set will run you just fifty bucks more at $349.99, and it offers a black console, a charging cradle, 32 gigs of memory, a copy of Nintendo Land and enrollment in the Deluxe Digital Promotion, which will earn you 10 percent back in Points for all purchases made on the Nintendo eShop.
