This year was an amazing one for highly anticipated films. Not only did both the Marvel Cinematic Universe and The Dark Knight Trilogy pay off in a big way with both The Avengers and The Dark Knight Rises, but this was also the year when The Hunger Games made its debut on the big screen, Ridley Scott’s Alien prequel came to theaters, and directors like Wes Anderson, Paul W.S. Anderson, Robert Zemeckis, Steven Spielberg, and Ben Affleck unleashed their latest films on the world. 2012 is a year we will not soon be forgetting

And while it may be coming to a close now that we’re in the penultimate month of the year, that doesn’t even come close to meaning that we’ve run out of films to be excited about – and few movies have grabbed our attention quite so firmly as Quentin Tarantino’s Django Unchained. The project is the director’s first since the biggest hits of his career, Inglourious Basterds, and he’s certainly made us wait for it, as the movie isn’t set to arrive until Christmas Day. Luckily, though, he’s given us plenty to keep us pumped over the last few months. We’ve seen posters, official stills, trailers and a whole lot more, but today launches something brand new: an official website.

While has been active for a while now, The Weinstein Company re-launched the site with a brand new design today and it’s just begging to be dug through. But what’s more, to celebrate the arrival of the new website we have gotten our hands on four awesome new animated images that show off Django (Jamie Foxx), Calvin Candie (Leonardo DiCaprio), Broomhilda (Kerry Washington) and Stephen (Samuel L. Jackson). Click on each one to see it in action!

Django Unchained will be in theaters on December 25th. For more about the movie, head over to our Blend Film Database.
