Bruce Campbell Confirms He Has A Role In Sam Raimi's Oz The Great And Powerful

When it comes to actor/director pairs, it doesn't get much better than Bruce Campbell and Sam Raimi. Though Campbell hasn't actually been the lead actor in any of Raimi's movies since Army of Darkness, the filmmaker loves to give his friend bit roles, be it Liam Neeson's final disguise in Dark Man or the multiple parts in the Spider-Man franchise. Now that Raimi has begun production on his next film, there has been some question as to whether or not Campbell would make an appearance. Today we learn that the answer is yes.
Campbell has announced via his Twitter account (if you're not already following him you really need to fix that) that he will have a role in Oz The Great and Powerful. If you're wondering what part he might play, however, prepare to be left in a fog of mystery, as even Campbell doesn't know. "I. Am. In. Oz," Campbell tweeted. "Sam Raimi refuses to tell me what character I will portray. Just know that the role is PIVOTAL." A prequel of sorts to the 1939 technicolor classic, the film stars James Franco as Oscar Diggs, a magician/con-man who finds himself in the Land of Oz. Convincing everyone that he's a great wizard, he has everyone entranced - everyone except for three witches (Mila Kunis, Rachel Weisz, Michelle Williams) who believe that he's an imposter.
Bruce Campbell has been the epitome of awesome for over 30 years now, so I don't really care who he is playing. Just the fact that he's in the movie gives the project enough a ton of bonus points. That said, I do hope that Campbell is at least given more than one scene this time around - and if they can have him play a character with a shotgun and a chainsaw for a hand, that would be fantastic as well.
