My Idiot Brother will definitely be one of the big-deal premieres at next month's Sundance Film Festival, a comedy from director Jesse Peretz (Important Things With Demetri Martin) starring a huge lineup of talented actors, including Paul Rudd, Zooey Deschanel, Elizabeth Bank, Rashida Jones, Kathryn Hahn, Steve Coogan, Adam Scott, Hugh Dancy and Emily Mortimer. Rudd plays the title character, on a trip visiting his various relatives and presumably getting into plenty of trouble, and while we saw a few set photos of him in costume while they were filming over the summer, none of them really equalled the new official images available at the Sundance press site.
You can see them below to check out the normally handsome Rudd in all his bearded, tank-top-wearing, mirrored-shades-sporting glory. It's really a sight to behold, and no, it's not in danger of ruining my lifelong crush on Rudd, since I'm betting it'll be hilarious as well. I'll be at Sundance next month and anxious to catch My Idiot Brother, so check back for more about the movie in late January.
