On Sunday February 25th the 79th Annual Academy Awards will be held, but more importantly at 7:30 EST on the same day, we’ll kick off Oscar Chat 6. You may have heard of it. We do it every year, and every year it gets bigger and better.
This year’s event has gone international, and it’s bringing people and websites around the world together. In addition to the usual crowd from CinemaBlend.com, this time OC is co-sponsored by the Australian based site Moviehole.net, the UKsite Filmstalker.co.uk, and from right next door to CB’s headquarters in Dallas, Texas PopSyndicate.com. Regulars from all three sites will hop right into this year’s Oscar Chat mix, making it not just our biggest OC ever, but a real first in Oscar watching experiences.
To celebrate, I’m emptying out my prize closet. During the commercial breaks throughout the night, we’ll be giving away free stuff to those of you smart enough to be there with us. What kind of prizes should you expect? We’ll have t-shirts, DVDs, movie soundtracks, and one big, grand prize which we’ll give away towards the end to someone who’s managed to stick it out through the whole thing.
So look, even if you aren’t watching the Oscars, even if you hate them, there’s no excuse to be there. If you don’t care about the Academy Awards, then come for the free stuff.
