Curtis Evades Border Patrol

A few weeks ago, Cinema Blend reported to you, the loyal reader, that Drew Barrymore was joining the cast of Disney’s South Of The Border. It now appears that she will be joined by fellow vixen and Michael Myers foil Jamie Lee Curtis. That’s just good casting.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the Trading Places star will play one of the live actors along with Piper Perabo. The rest of the cast will be doing predominately voice work. And why wouldn’t they? Strolling in to a voice recording studio in jeans and a t-shirt, while belting out some lines for an hour is a pretty easy paycheck.

South Of The Border centers around a conceited Chihuahua who gets lost in Mexico (a fate possibly worse than death!). The tiny mammal quickly decides to exploit some friends for help (voiced by everyone from George Lopez to Paul Rodriguez) and heads off on a crusade to find its owner (Jamie Lee Curtis). I’m not exactly chomping at the bit; however, this is far from the worst project I’ve reported on this week.
