Danny Trejo Will Make Inspirational Basketball Movie

It’s tough to look at Danny Trejo and think “feel good” story. Mostly because whenever I look at him my bowels turn to water out of fear. Dude just looks scary. Well he turned around from a criminal life and became a successful and crazy-recognizable actor. Now, according to Deadline, Trejo has acquired the rights to another inspirational story. Trejo and his financing partner Gil Medina are making Ambition, a basketball movie about NBA’er Paul Millsap and his uncle and agent DeAngelo Simmons.

Millsap is a 25 year old forward for the Utah Jazz. Ambition will detail his relationship with Simmons after Millsap’s family moved in with their uncle. Simmons helped raise Millsap, taught him basketball and eventually became his agent and representative. Coming off the success of The Blind Side, folks know that a little inspiration and a lot of sports can go a long way.

Trejo will self-finance the movie and filming will start later this year.
